East Midlands Councils together with experienced practitioners from South East Employers are providing an opportunity to undertake a 3 day ILM endorsed programme in Mediation and Conflict Resolution which will give you the skills and confidence to undertake mediation from initial meeting with the parties to closure, following a mediation model.

East Midlands Councils and the Nottingham & Nottinghamshire Refugee Forum (NNRF) are holding a one day event on understanding the needs of refugee and asylum seeking children and young people.

East Midlands Councils is holding its annual Policy Update Event for Councillors in the East Midlands on Friday 3 November 2017. Covering the latest information from policy experts predominantly relating to Planning and Housing there will also be an opportunity to hear from Professor Colin Copus and Rachel Wall (DeMontfort University) on the national “Hearing the Voice of the Councillor” project.

The fourth event in the 2017/18 programme is Public Health. Please note the venue has changed.

This event will look at initial healthcare assessments for new arrivals identifying key needs and opportunities for health promotion and preventative for Syrian Refugees.

On 16 November 2017 East Midlands Councils will once again bring the Local Authority Challenge to the East Midlands. In 2016 South Kesteven District Council became the first Local Authority Challenge Winner for the East Midlands, taking part in the interactive, high pressure exciting development focused competition.

Coaching Tools Boot Camp

This workshop will focus on tools used within coaching sessions. Facilitated by experienced executive coach Cathy Lasher the workshop will help to develop coaches knowledge and skills when using coaching tools, enabling coaches to have access to a variety of different tools and understand when they are most effective.

The seminar will cover the emerging impact of major changes to local government finance: including the journey towards the 100% localisation of Business Rates, the end of Revenue Support Grant (RSG) and the expectation of councils generating local economic growth to help fund services
