Low cost CPD programme for PLANNERS 2012/13
What does the programme look like?
East Midlands Councils (EMC) has again developed a programme of low cost Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for local authority planners and other development professionals. The programme is comprised of 6 seminars that will tackle issues of relevance to local planning authorities, not least the implications of the Government’s localism agenda.
How does it work?
- Each local authority that is a member of EMC will pay a one off cost of £500+VAT per participating organisation per year.
- For this fee, participating organisations can have 18 course places per year (3* places per seminar).
- Each seminar of the programme will recognise the completion of a minimum of 5 hours CPD.
- The 2012/13 seminar topics have been chosen by each of the county Chief Planning Officers (CPO) groups. These topics will change in future years to reflect the diverse nature of planning.

How do you register?
Approximately 2 months prior to each seminar, you will be sent by email the relevant programme and delegate booking form. Please complete the latter with a list of delegate names from your authority and email it to moira.hunt@emcouncils.gov.uk or, post the completed delegate booking form to Moira Hunt, EMC, Phoenix House, Nottingham Road, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire LE13 0UL. The closing date for delegate registration is 2 weeks prior to each seminar.
* If a seminar is undersubscribed, extra places will be offered to authorities after the closing date.
** the 'Money Makes The World Go Round' seminar is the only one to be held on a Tuesday, the remaining 5 will be on Thursday.
