Organisations are being asked to field teams of six individuals who will spend the day acting as the Management team of a fictional local authority. They will encounter many of the challenges and issues faced by real corporate teams. It will not be for the faint hearted as it will require participants to think on their feet, work collaboratively, be ready for anything the challenge may throw at them, but it will be a fantastic learning experience, great fun and will really hone those all important leadership skills.Working as a team of six people (from any area of local authority work), delegates will spend the day as the management team of a fictional local authority, encountering many of the tasks that a real corporate team would deal with. The event offers a unique, full-day, fully-interactive training experience which offers delegates the chance to:

  • They’ll have to work as a team, with neighbouring councils and with partner organisations to deliver a new strategy for the council. They’ll learn how to keep calm and focussed whilst choosing which areas to prioritise; dealing with politically sensitive issues and still keeping their focus on how to give the public the best services with limited budgets.
  • The challenge will offer a rare opportunity for aspiring managers across local government to gain exposure to issues outside of their normal working lives and give them a taste of what senior management is like. We are keen to attract teams from across the East Midlands to take part in this competition and fantastic learning opportunity. Teams on the day will battle it out for a range of awards, recognising the achievements on the day. Awards up for grabs are…
