  • Assertiveness (Passive Aggressive and Assertive communication)

Workshops include

Building Resilience

For a long time it has been well understood that too little pressure leaves us bored and listless and too much pressure leaves us overwhelmed and exhausted. For each of us, what leads to feeling ‘under pressure’ or ‘stressed’ will vary: for some it’s too much change all at once; for others it’s high volumes of work under time-pressure; for some people it may be working with little structure; for others it will be working with too much. Appreciating what works for us and what doesn’t is critical in helping us to anticipate stress, and to manage ourselves through demanding situations.

In this workshop we will:

  • Explore your own approach to stressful situations
  • Understand your own motivators and stress triggers and your typical response to these to help build resilience
  • Develop strategies for handling pressure and building resilience

Why should you go?

  • Learn from experts who understand your role
  • Develop your administrative skills and knowledge
  • Gain invaluable insights from your peers
  • Develop new friends and contacts
  • Have fun, learn something new and invigorate yourself

Conference Contributors

Jo Jones, Barefoot Coaching

Jo is an innovative, professional transformational coach, who is passionate about empowering individuals to be the best versions of themselves.

“My approach is holistic – we will work together to form a coaching relationship that is built on trust, authenticity and honesty, one which will work with the whole of you. I will give you the space and time to think, I will nurture new mindsets, identify blocks, set goals and celebrate all that is you! When necessary, I will hold you to account and shine a light on new approaches.”

Jo is a tutor for Barefoot Coaching on the Coaching Skills for Parents/Family Life and delivers wellness talks.

As a Substance Misuse Counsellor within the voluntary sector for many years, Jo provided clinical support and counselling to a high portfolio of clients with varying degrees of substance misuse within a multi-disciplinary composition; including Criminal Justice and Shared Care settings. Working closely with GPs, Probation Officers, Criminal Psychologists and Community Mental Health teams, Jo worked with often challenging individuals with life threatening behaviours to address their needs and their goals. Using positive psychology to manage risk and reduce harm, she also built trust with individuals who had lost trust in society. Jo reflects that it was during this time she built her strong and steadfast foundations for being a coach.
