IOM UK Kurdish Cultural Orientation Session

Kurdish Cultural Orientation Session

East Midlands Councils have organised a hour virtual Kurdish Information Session over Tuesday 13th July and Thursday 15th July. This virtual training session will be hosted by IOM UK.

Description

This two day session will cover the history and background of the Kurds, Kurdish cultural norms and practices, the services Kurds may be used to and their expectations around accessing those services, and the conditions Kurdish refugees may face in the region before coming to the UK. Following part 1 of this session, there may be some brief reading and/or activity to prepare for part 2. This session will be participatory and rely heavily on participant engagement through case studies and discussion, therefore we highly encourage participants to prepare to have their cameras on during the session.
