East Midlands Councils Statement for Freedom of Information (FOI)

East Midlands Councils (EMC), aims to be as open as possible by making as much information  as possible, publicly available on our website. East Midlands Councils will disclose recorded information held by it, subject to a range of exemptions. East Midlands Councils will usually respond within 20 working days of receipt of written requests. If we are not able to meet that deadline, for good reason, we will keep the applicant informed.

If there are any sensitivities associated with the request we will provide as much information as possible and explain why certain information has been withheld. If the request actually relates to another organisation/contact, East Midlands Councils has worked with; we will forward the request to them and inform the applicant of this.

East Midlands Councils may charge for information where the cost of complying with the request, exceeds £450.

If an applicant is dissatisfied with the response from East Midlands Councils he/she should contact East Midlands Councils in the first instance explaining why he/she is dissatisfied and this will be dealt with accordingly. Should the applicant remain dissatisfied, he/she can request an independent review from the Information Commissioner. This should be made in writing directly to:
