Terms and Conditions

Trainers accredited by the ADSO deliver all national and local Branch level courses. Trainers have considerable practical experience, as well as the presentation skills required to deliver high quality training. Any advice given should not be taken as formal legal advice, merely as a sharing of good practice.

Refunds/cancellations – Remissions of fees will be made for cancellations or transfers received in writing at least 14 days before the course.

Any place cancelled within 14 days of the course must be paid in full.

Delegate substitutions will be accepted at any time.

Qualifications Learners accessing free module specific training will also be liable for a cancellation fee of £15 + VAT if cancellations are made within 14 days of the course or in event of a no-show on the day.

VAT – invoices / receipts will be issued for passing to your Finance Department. Association of Democratic Services VAT No: 985 7655 49 and Company Registration number is 7068088.

Payment – full payment is due within 30 days of invoice date.

We prefer payment by BACS. If you wish to pay us direct please contact us for further information. If you cannot pay by BACS then cheques should be made payable to ‘Association of Democratic Services Officers’.

Purchase Orders – ADSO will not accept orders or bookings without a purchase order. If your authority does not use a purchase order system, and will process invoices without any purchase order being quoted, then we will require written confirmation from you that purchase orders are not required and a named individual and their contact details as to who the invoice should be sent to before any order can be accepted.

Late payment – late payment will incur a penalty charge. We will issue one reminder. If the payment is then still outstanding, we reserve the right to issue a late penalty charge of £25 plus vat for any invoice which fails to be paid within 30 days.

Other charges – should any monies be paid to ADSO in error an administration fee of £10 plus vat will be deducted from any refund.

Booking confirmation – we issue booking confirmation on receipt of a booking. If you have not received your admission letter a week after such a booking, please email 

Variations – all course programmes will be revised and updated in line with changes in legislation. It may be necessary for reasons beyond our control to change the contents and timing of the programme, the speakers, the date or the venue.

In the unlikely event of the course being cancelled by ADSO, we will make a full refund but disclaim any further liability.
