Employment Law Update (places still available)
Back by popular demand EMC are holding our Employment Law Update facilitated by Darren Newman.
The session will take place on Thursday 7th November 2024 via MS Teams and will run from the new time of 2.00 – 4.30 pm (this was originally a morning session but due to unforeseen personal circumstances had to be changed to the afternoon). The update will offer Darren’s pragmatic advice and interpretation of the main developments in employment law and implications for councils.
With employment law changes coming in and an increase in focus on the Employment Rights Bill coming into force in the Autumn, the update will be particularly useful and timely. The Bill brings with it a whole host of changes, including: the plan to place significant restrictions on the ability of employers to “fire and rehire” employees, changes to day one rights to include: parental leave, protection from unfair dismissal, sick pay and flexible working, banning exploitative zero hour contracts, the creation of a Fair Work Agency, reforms around trade union laws and establishing a Fair Pay Agreement, amongst others.
