East Midlands Councils are pleased to announce this Migration training delivered by International Organisation for Migration (IOM) UK on Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children

Session Summary:

This session will cover the experiences and background of unaccompanied asylum seeking children (UASC). The session content will focus on how unaccompanied children fit within the global context of migration, how children become unaccompanied, routes and journeys of unaccompanied children, situations in Europe, and mental health and wellbeing of unaccompanied children. This session will be participatory and rely heavily on participant engagement through case studies and discussion, therefore we highly encourage participants to come prepared to have their cameras on during the session. 

The cost of the training is FREE. The event will be held on Tuesday 5th March 2024, 10:AM-12:30PM, via Zoom 

The training session is aimed at East Midlands: 

Personal Advisor, Social Worker, Refugee Support Worker, Team Manager

Please note Non-Members: Bookings will only be accepted upon confirmation of the Local Authority member(s) and the LA contact(s) you are working with. Any bookings received without the inclusion of this information will be removed.

Cancellations: All cancellations should be notified by e-mail prior to the closing date. Please note that all cancellations after the closing date will be charged at the seminar rate even if you have not provided a purchase order number. Submission of a booking form or online booking denotes acceptance of this condition. Should you have to cancel after the closing date, you can avoid this cancellation fee by substituting someone to attend in your place. For events/webinars which are free to attend, a cancellation fee of £50 + VAT will be charged if cancelled after the closing date and a substitute cannot be found.
