East Midlands Councils will be hosting a regional pay consultation briefing on Tuesday 8^th December 2026 from 2pm-4.00pm.  The briefing is an opportunity to meet with the national negotiators to discuss claims received from employees’ representatives and to inform the National Employers’ response.

The meeting will be chaired by Cllr James Dawson, Leader of Erewash Borough Council and Chair of the Regional Employers’ Board.  Chief Executives, Finance Directors, HR Directors.  For Councillors, Leaders and Portfolios with responsibilities for HR and/or Resources are particularly encouraged to attend and participate in the meeting to input your views.  It will take place virtually on MS Teams to provide ease of attendance.

The format of the briefing will be a pre-meeting at 2pm to hear from trade unions about their 2027 pay claim for Green Book employees, followed by the Employers’ only meeting at 2.15pm, so participants will receive two Teams links.  For any queries, contact Sam Maher at sam.maher@emcouncils.gov.uk
