The primary focus of this role is to provide legal Advice on strategic immigration matters to the SMP, with specific knowledge and experience on matters affecting the function of Children’s Services. Advice is provided to enable local authorities to promote good practice standards and consistency throughout the region. Support and guidance is provided to ensure assessments are robust and comply with both safeguarding and immigration laws to minimise the risks of legal challenge and judicial review proceedings.
