JNC for Youth and Community Workers 2023 Pay Award

 Agreement has been reached in December 2023 for a pay award for 2023 for Youth and Community Workers.  The agreement is for:-

  • an increase of £1925 on all spinal column points on the Youth and Community Support Worker Range and the Professional Range from 1 September 2023.
  • An increase of 3.88% on the London Area Allowances and Sleeping-In-Duty Allowance from 1 September 2023.

Joint Negotiating Committee for Youth and Community Workers

Coroners’ Pay 2022 -23

On 16th Feb 2023 the pay award for 2022-2023 for Coroners from the Joint Negotiating Committee has been agreed as 1.56% with effect from 1 April 2022.  A copy of the circular can be found here .

On 19th December 2022, the Employers’ Side issued an Update on Coroners’ Pay for 2022-23 and requested information from councils.  You can access the Circular here.

Caretakers Lettings Fees

Caretakers’ Letting Fees were reviewed by East Midlands Regional Joint Council on 13 December 2023.  The Joint Council agreed to increase the rates by 3.88% with effect from 1st April 2023.  The revised rates can be found Caretakers Lettings Fees.

Youth & Community Workers

JESC 227 – Pay Agreement 2022

The Staff Side has agreed to the National Employers’ pay offer of a £1925 increase on all pay points and a 4.04% increase on allowances.  A copy of the circular with the Professional Ranges can be found here.

National Pay Offer – 13th Oct 2022

A formal offer has been made nationally to the Youth and Community Staff Side.  The offer is:

• An increase of £1925 on all pay points with effect from 1 September 2022
• An increase of 4.04% on all allowances with effect from 1 September 2022

The unions are consulting on the offer and there will be a meeting of the JNC Youth and Community Workers next week.  We will keep you updated of any developments.  A copy of the letter can be found here.

Pay Agreement 2021 – Circular 225

Information has been received relating to agreement reached on 20th July 2022 for a pay award for 2021 for Youth and Community Workers, representing an increase of 1.75%.  A copy of the circular can be found here.

The 2022 pay claim which has been submitted by the unions representing Youth & Community Workers.  The National Employers will shortly be undertaking a consultation of local authorities on this and will be providing us with further details of in due course. Information can be found here.

The JNC for Youth and Community Workers has reached an agreement on a pay award for 2020. Circular No 219 dated 5th October 2020 can be found here.

The Joint Negotiating Committee (JNC) for Youth and Community Workers’ Education Framework is due to be updated to reflect changes to the structure of qualifications for youth workers. Coroners

JNC for Coroners – Pay 2021/22 – JNC (66) for Coroners circular dated 10th August 2021 confirms that agreement has now been reached on a 1.5% pay award for 2021/22, effective from 1st April 2021.  The circular can be found Pay 2021/22 – JNC (66) for Coroners circular dated 10th August 2021.

JNC for Coroners – Pay 2021/22 – Following a recent meeting of the JNC’s joint secretariat, the Management Side of the JNC has now made a formal offer to the Officers’ Side.  A copy of the circular and letter can be found JNC for Coroners Pay 2021-22 – circular.  (2.8.21).  The JNC for Coroners Circular No 64 dated 10th June 2020 on the Constitution can be found here.

A joint agreement covering two years;  2019/2020 for the pay of coroners has been reached by the JNC for Coroners.  A copy of Circular No 63 dated 30th Nov 2018 can be found A copy of Circular No 63 dated 30th Nov 2018.

LGA Survey of Coroners’ Pay – Management Side Survey Report – The LGA conducted a management side survey on coroners’ pay in August 2018, following the latest national agreement on coroners’ pay outlined in JNC circular 62 dated 8 January 2018.  The survey can be found here.

Soulbury

National Pay Offer – 14th Oct 2022

A formal offer has been made nationally to the Soulbury Officers’ Side.  The offer is:

• An increase of £1925 on all pay points with effect from 1 September 2022
• An increase of 4.04% on all allowances with effect from 1 September 2022

Soulbury Committee Circular on Car Allowances and Work-related Stress – The Soulbury Committee, covering officers in roles such as education improvement managers, educational psychologists and young people’s community service managers, has agreed to issue guidance for local authorities relating on car user schemes and work-related stress.  It reminds authorities to give appropriate consideration to the nature of these roles when determining essential car user status, and to consult with staff.  In terms of work-related stress, the circular reminds authorities of the guidance documents referenced in Appendix G of the Soulbury Report which provide advice and guidance on this issue. Soulbury Workforce Earning Survey – Please find attached a final report of the Soulbury Workforce Earning Survey 2018. The survey was conducted in order to gather information about educational improvement professionals, educational psychologists and young people’s/community service managers. The information collected relates to pay and grading, working status, vacancies, workforce characteristics, recruitment difficulties, and information about recruits.
