ILM 5 Award in Leadership & Management Programme (5 days)

This development opportunity would suit current and aspiring middle managers who wish to extend their knowledge and skills to get the best from the teams and resources within their organisation.

By the end of this programme, delegates will have:

  • Recognised their own leadership style, character traits and levels of emotional intelligence and have identified areas for development.
  • Analysed their ability to motivate, empower and delegate and learnt techniques to improve productivity.
  • Recognised the range of emotions during change and how to manage these in themselves and others; creating an environment where a culture of innovation and creativity exists towards future change.

Programme Dates and Structure:

This 5-day programme consists of 4 full day face to face sessions (9.30am – 4.30pm) and 2 half day online sessions (9.30am – 1.30pm) on the following dates:

Day 1: Wednesday 28th February 2024    
21st Century Leadership (Full Day face to face)

Day 2: Thursday 7th March 2024
Harnessing the Power of your Leadership Capability (Online half day)

Day 3: Thursday 21st March 2024      
Understanding yourself and your Leadership (Full Day face to face)

Day 4: Wednesday 24th April 2024   
Innovation and Improvement in the Organisation and Leading Others through Change (Full Day face to face)

Day 5: Wednesday 15th May 2024     
Personal Reflection and Practical Presentations (Online Half day)

Day 6: Thursday 6th June 2024   
The Inspirational Leader and Managing Performance (Full Day face to face)

Assignment Requirements

To achieve the qualification, there will be 2 pieces of assessed work:

  • 1 written assignment: Becoming an Effective Leader where you will obtain feedback from others on your performance as a manager and leader and analyse and reflect upon it to identify strengths and areas for development.
  • 1 assessed Presentation based upon your reflection on the learning and your Continuing Professional Development Plan (Taking place on Day 5).

Our Support

Throughout the entire programme you will be provided with support from expert tutors to help keep your learning on track both during and between the sessions, where required, alongside a commitment to assist with adjustments to delivery or assessment methods to overcome any barriers to learning and achievement on the programme.

Venue

All the face-to-face sessions will take place at Pera Business Park, Nottingham Road, Melton Mowbray, LE13 0PB.

Early Bird Offer & Costs

If you book by 24th January 2024 the cost per delegate for EMC Members is £1200 + VAT.  After this date, the cost will be £1299.00 + VAT.  For bookings of 6 places or more we will also offer a further discount – please contact lisa.butterfill@emcouncils.gov.uk to discuss further.
