The HM Treasury published the government’s response to the consultation and laid the implementing regulations in Parliament.  As this is an affirmative process, these regulations will need to be debated in Parliament before they come into force.  The response does not indicate a date for implementation and it recognises that pension regulations will need to be amended.

EMC has been liaising with our workforce colleagues at the LGA, who will consider the text of the regulations and any government guidance that is produced and will provide updated information in due course.
